The Big 33 Scholarship Foundation Inc. joined with Camp Hill, Cumberland Valley and Hershey High Schools for the Annual Food Drive. Over 6,222 pounds of food was collected from the schools and donated to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. “We are honored to have the opportunity to help the Central Pennsylvania Food Band stop hunger in our local communities,” said Big 33 Executive Director, Dave Trimbur.
Camp Hill High School alone contributed over 5,000 pounds of food. Students brought donations to school and many went Tick or Treating in their local neighborhoods for canned items. The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank explained the donated food will quickly get sorted and be distributed to local pantries, soup kitchens and shelters within a few days
Serving 27 counties, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank is the largest non-profit food distribution organization in central PA. The Food Bank solicits inventories and distributes food and other donated products to more than 700 partner agencies (food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, etc.) that directly serve people struggling with hunger.
